Our Background
Michael and Jermaine Dupri
established Hip Hop 4 Humanity in the wake of
September 11th. After reading article upon
article depicting the Hip Hop Community as
negligent and apathetic toward the welfare of
their fellow man, the duo decided to take
action. On October 8th, 2001 Hip Hop 4 Humanity
was launched as a help-a-thon for the victims of
September 11th and to support the local United
Way and Salvation Army of Atlanta, Georgia.
National and local artists along with the
hip-hop community participated in the all day
live remote radio broadcast. Since the
tremendous success of their first event, HH4H
continues to be an influential force in the Hip
Hop community and seeks to address critical
issues facing young people, while providing
resources that will have an astounding impact on
their future!
